Australian Conservatives' Victorian MLC Dr Rachel Carling-Jenkins is locked in a marathon debate on euthanasia in the Legislative Council today.
Dr Carling-Jenkins foreshadowed some of the many problems with the bill earlier this week in this video:
Yesterday, Dr Carling-Jenkins lamented on Twitter that the ALP was shutting down the debate, asking "What is the point of a House of Review if the government shuts down the review process when they get tired of answering life and death questions?" The debate then continued, rolling right through the night and into this morning.
Meanwhile, the New South Wales Parliament voted overnight to reject the latest euthanasia push, 19 votes to 20.
